The University of Klagenfurt is a young and innovative university that offers a range of degrees and 1300 study and 300 continuing education programmes for over 10,000 students. Over 20 members of the ITEC Institute perform research activities on the ASKALON environment-oriented to­wards novel programming paradigms and tools to simplify the effective use of multiprocessor architectures and geographically distributed heterogeneous resources. UNI-KLU participates in related projects: ARTICONF as a decentralized trustworthy social media network based on a blockchain architecture; ASPIDE is responsible for monitoring extreme data processing soft­ware on exascale architectures and will utilize the M3AT monitoring platform to evaluate the performance of serverless functions and HPC resources.
