The Sapienza University of Rome is the largest university in Europe. The Department of Civil, Constructional and Environmental Engineering (DICEA) include the Geodesy and Geomatics Division (GGD) where Positioning and Image Analysis Groups have been active for more than twenty-five years. The scientific research of GGD Image Analysis Group has been focused on Digital Surface Models (DSMs) and orthoimages generation from data acquired by optical and SAR satellite sensors. GGD is a member since their foundation of Copernicus Academy (2016) and of the GNSS Raw Measurements Task Force (2017). Positioning and Image Analysis Groups have received more than 30 national and international awards.
